  • Co-Founding Board member and Immediate Past President of LifeSPAN (Lifetime Secure Personal Assistance Network): LifeSPAN, a Washington non-profit founded in 2001, is the first U.S. affiliate model of the award-winning PLAN of British Columbia, Canada. The family directed organization helps families plan safe, secure and quality futures for relatives with disabilities.

  • Member of the Rotary Club of Seattle (#4): Ms. Bateman has served on a number of committees including: Rotary Relations Committee; International Committee; Community Service Committee (Past Chair); and The Seattle Rotary Service Foundation (Past Trustee).

  • Mentor to students and minority businesses in University of Washington's Business and Economic Development Program: From 2001-2006, Ms. Bateman served as a Rotary Club of Seattle business mentor to several student teams and inner-city businesses and non-profits in the area of social enterprise development and marketing.

  • Past Vice Chair of United Way of King County's "Out of the Rain" initiative to end homelessness.
